Rail Access Without a Rail Siding
FGLK offers 9 rail-served transload locations across Upstate New York, giving shippers of any size access to Class I rail economics without on-site rail infrastructure.
Your freight. Our rail-served sites. Rail pricing without the rail siding.
Transloading transfers freight between truck and railcar at a rail-served FGLK site, so businesses that don't have a rail siding on their property can still access rail economics. FGLK provides the location and rail access, spots the railcars, and handles the rail movement to CSX or Norfolk Southern. The physical transfer of product between truck and railcar is performed by the shipper or a transload operator at the site.
For high-volume shippers of bulk commodities, agricultural products, energy inputs, or industrial materials, transloading can dramatically reduce per-unit freight costs compared to over-the-road trucking, especially on longer hauls.
Your truck arrives at the FGLK transload site
Freight is delivered by truck to the nearest FGLK transload site, no on-site rail infrastructure required at your location.
Freight is transferred into a spotted railcar
At the site, product is transferred between truck and railcar, covered hoppers, flatcars, gondolas, boxcars, or tank cars, depending on your commodity and routing. FGLK spots and secures the cars; the transfer itself is handled by the shipper or their transload operator.
FGLK delivers to CSX or Norfolk Southern
Cars are moved to our Class I interchange, handing off to the national network for delivery to your customer or destination.
Inbound works the same way in reverse
Inbound rail shipments arrive at the transload site, get transferred to truck, and are delivered to your facility, no rail siding needed.

Freight We Move
FGLK transload customers span agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and construction. If you ship it by truck today, we can likely help move it by rail.
The Short-Line Advantage in Transloading
Working with a short-line railroad for transloading means faster decisions, more flexible scheduling, and a team that knows your business. We're not routing tickets through a national call center, our commercial and operations staff work directly with your logistics team.
Because FGLK provides the transload site and handles the local rail movement, you deal with one point of contact for the rail side of the move, from the transload site to the Class I interchange, simplifying scheduling, communication, and problem-solving.
One Point of Contact
FGLK provides the transload site and the local haul, one team, one invoice, one conversation for the rail side of the move.
Dual Class I Access
Transload freight moves via FGLK to CSX or Norfolk Southern for furtherance, giving customers competitive routing options to North American and global markets.
Sites Close to You
Nine sites distributed across six counties mean shorter truck drayage to the transload site and lower total delivered cost.
Flexible Scheduling
We work around your production and shipping calendar, not the other way around. Seasonal peaks, special moves, and custom arrangements are part of how we do business.
